RELIQUARY

Metaphorically speaking, a reliquary is a receptable designed to hold, protect, and display cherished, historical, and sentimental items to sustain and preserve a unique representation of such “relics”.

A reliquary is often elaborately crafted from precious materials of gold, silver, and the keepsakes that speak of their emotional and factual significance within.

What follows is a many faceted story of Earth and our place upon Her in images and words.

Andrea is a woman with graying curly hair and a contagious smile looking to your right.

With joy, fear, and hope I offer you my vision of our existence within this Universe, our evolution as a species, to climate change and the new age of technology.

Natural History

As I look around and study the patterns, the changes there demand that I fetch out into the future. With this body of work, you will see the triptych, a winged creature letting go of our world into an oblivion of our own making, a judgment meted out by power that exists in our faith, our fears.

Next, our Creator, juggles planets, all possibilities, tossing our Earth into special existence. The rest is my delve, one personal attempt to investigate and understand our plight of climate change and division, of miracles and magic.

Andrea is a woman with graying curly hair and a contagious smile looking to your right.

What have we done within the evolution of this gift, our life upon this Earth?
Merely an experiment, set by what force?
Consider all with a modicum of Hope.

PENTIMENTI

Pentimenti: definition
Refers to the embellishment of an earlier image made by the artist to add to an original work.

My previous show: FIAT LUX – Let There Be Light was the impetus for this new series. As the James Webb Space Telescope added new clues to the Universe, its

beginning, the Big Bang and on, I was inspired. I have created new images to represent a version of time, on to the emergence of life on our planet, the fossils
beneath, as the Human Species developed, changing our climate and utilizing technology to “thrive”. I explore with visuals and prose, a delve into AI, ChatGPT,
Robots, etc. with statements made and questions posed, always with a spirit of curiosity and hope.
